Episode 30: The Impact of Clothing on our Money Making, with Karen Arthur

If you know me you know how much I love clothing! And todays guest truly lives that passion too. The Karen Arthur lives by the mantra of ‘do what you love and see where that takes you’.

Wearing clothes that made her feel good saved her sanity and so she started #wearyourhappy, which is all about wearing clothes that give you happy memories. Karen is a fashion designer, fashion creative, sewing tutor, podcast host, model, speaker and teacher. Karen’s podcast, Menopause Whilst Black, is a podcast committed to centering the menopause journeys of Black UK women through research stories.

When Karen hit menopause she found herself falling out of love with a teaching career spanning 3 decades. She left under ill health amongst many big changes and grieving the loss of her aunt and stepped out into funemployment. As Karen started to feel better she started to think about the few items of her aunts clothing: a red maxi skirt, a pleated chiffon number and a bangle and found herself consciously choosing clothing to lift her mood.
